The 28th annual Vintage Virginia Wine Festival is a long-standing rite of spring for wine lovers. This year, after a long season of cold weather and doom-and-gloom media, the festival is a must-do on the seasonal calendar. Enjoy a full day of fabulous music, gourmet foods, specialty wares and time with friends, all while supporting Virginia wineries and cultivating your own collection.

On May 30 and 31, the grassy bowl of the Bull Run Regional Park Special Events Center in Centreville, Virginia will be transformed into an unforgettable 2-day event for wine enthusiasts with a rare opportunity to taste and collect over 300 select vintages. All wines offered during the festival may be purchased by the glass, bottle or by the case. Wine pick-up service is offered at the event; purchasing patrons receive a ticket stub, much like a coat check, and have their wine sent to a secure area for easy pick-up in the parking locale.

In addition to tasting and collecting, attendees of the 28th annual Vintage Virginia can browse and shop at nearly 100 artisan booths featuring exquisite handcrafted jewelry, textiles, pottery, hats, handmade furniture and more. Specialty food items also receive prominent billing at the event and range from gourmet roasted nuts to homemade fudge, salsas, herbs and seasonings, jerky and brick oven pizzas.

Also, for the first time, Vintage Virginia will be teaming with Washington Wine Academy and Reston Limousine to offer a fun and relaxed shuttle bus service. Take the Metro to the Vienna Station and then hop aboard a Reston Limousine Bus. With the purchase of a shuttle bus ticket, guests will enjoy convenient round trip transportation.

Vintage Virginia is singular among wine events for the focus on presenting only the best, most upbeat and soulful music and entertainment. Nationally acclaimed Big Sam’s Funky Nation is bringing the New Orleans funk as the headliner on both Saturday and Sunday evening. Award-winning jazz funkateers On the One will be rocking the stage both days as well. Three of Virginia’s best bands – Robert Jospe Sextet, DJ Williams Projekt, and Beleza Brasil – will also be taking the stage. Other entertainment includes magic, comedy, juggling, stilt-walkers, balloon tiers and storytellers, with inflatables for the children.

Tickets for the event include a commemorative tasting glass with unlimited tastings. Information and tickets are available at www.atwproductions.com or by calling 540-745-3378.
