I work for a new, NYC record label called Brown Brothers Recordings. This past September, we had 4 days of recording sessions at Jimi Hendrix' Electric Lady Studio B in New York at which top jazzmen James Carter (saxes, sarousaphone), Cyrus Chestnut (keys), Reginald Veal (bass) and Ali Jackson (percussion) recorded an albums-worth of Pavement tunes and one Ali Jackson original. The album is completely mixed (by Ryan Hadlock, who has worked with Elvin Jones, among many others). Collage artist Mike Anderson has been commissioned to design the art for the cd, which will be released this Spring and include a “making of" video. We are currently putting together a release/tour schedule and would love some feedback. One track from the record is streaming at our website www.brownbrothersrecordings.com. and others will follow. Thanks for reading. The tracks which will be included on the album are: 1) My First Mine; 2) Here; 3) Summer Babe; 4) Cut Your Hair; 5) Stereo; 6) Blue Hawaiian; 7) Platform Blues; and 8) Trigger Cut.
