“From Turkey comes Timucin Sahin with Slick Road, an album that shows how far away from the American tradition jazz has drifted, all the while remaining Vibrant and true to its essence." -- All About Jazz

“The polytonal concepts pioneered by Ornette Coleman's Prime Time bands surface at times; Sahin plucks away with barnyard funkiness that folds into the rhythmic perimeter built by Eckhardt and Hart. At other times, Sahin injects softly flowing passages into the bubbling stew to promote a more lyrical setting. In all cases, the guitarist executes with acute clarity so that his spontaneous ideas ring out joyously above the background of churning, grooving rhythms. The trio interacts as a well-oiled machine throughout; Sahin and Eckhardt often bounce phrases off each other to the supplement of bent electronics and a light percussive touch. Primarily, though, the recording is a showcase of the talented guitarist who pours out volumes of pastel-colored improvisations with ongoing consistency. His blanketing undulation can be therapeutic." --Cadence Jazz Magazine
