Threads Orchestra
Having received an award from the PRS for Music Foundation, the Threads Orchestra are releasing their outstanding new album ‘Threads’ on April 2 through iTunes and all other major digital stores.

Produced by violist Adam Robinson, this emerging band combines some of the most dynamic jazz and classical musicians in the UK, including guitar virtuoso Chris Montague (Troyka, Django Bates), Mercury Prize nominee pianist Kit Downes and BBC Philharmonic violinist extraordinaire Julian Gregory.

With such strong writers in the group, the new album is a unique experience for the listener, moving between mesmerising, cinematic beauty and snarling groove in the blink of an eye. This debut release is a rare example of how to blend perfectly structured composition with the spontaneous abandonment of raw improvisation, a testament to the quality of musicianship honed by many performances together as a cutting edge ensemble.  Refusing to accept the traditional notions of a jazz rhythm section and string ensemble, something exciting and original has been forged.
