"33 1/3 PHX"

A world record, one-of-a-kind music event designed to promote live music in the Phoenix area and help support the live venues in the downtown area.

33 1/3 hours of non-stop improvised music with some of the valley's and the world's best musicians.

After four very successful events in Italy, the Super Sessions come to America.

WHEN and WHERE:
May 12th and 13th at Modified Arts - 407 E. Roosevelt St,. Phoenix, AZ. www.modified.org - 602-462-5516 Start time TBA

An event designed to promote live improvised music in a world becoming blander from homogenized and canned music. This is magic that can only happen when musicians are in the same room together jamming. The energy created from improvisational music comprises some of the best live recordings of all time, and this event promises to be one of the best Phoenix has ever known. For 33 hours and 20 minutes, a rotating plethora of musicians will perform non-stop improvised music in the heart of the Phoenix arts district.

The brainchild of promoter/musician Chris Boulet (an expatriate from Milwaukee who now lives in Italy) and Guitarist Willie Oteri, these events of 33 and 45 hours have attracted some of the world's best musicians, who are all passionate about promoting live music, which by many accounts is a dying creative expression. Past events held in Italy have included bass master Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, John Lennon), drummer Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, XTC) German drummer extraordinaire Schroeder (Mike Keneally, Napoleon Murphy Brock), guitarist Willie Oteri (Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mike Keneally) and rare performances by producer Cookie Marenco (Roy Hargrove, Charlie Haden, Windham Hill) including a very special and now legendary early morning ambient session with Tony Levin and producer Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Chucho Valdes, Jamie Walters) and jams featuring many other top jazz and rock musicians from around the world. These events have also attracted the attention of major periodicals and are a great way to promote musical products and art.

WHAT WE NEED:
We are seeking sponsors to help pay for some of the key musicians who will be taking part in this event. In return we can offer space for your logo on the posters and banner space on stage and perhaps a way to showcase some of your products.

If you would like to take part or to help by sponsoring part of the event, helping on stage or performing during the event please contact us and thanks for promoting live music and live music venues in the Phoenix area. Keep art alive!
