THE LAST MAMBO weaves together music by five time Grammy nominee Wayne Wallace and numerous other Bay Area musicians with archival footage, photographs and interviews of dancers, D.J.s and musicians. The film features interviews with John Santos, Rebeca Mauleon, Chata Guituerrez, Herman Bossett, Karl Perrazo, David Belove, Ramon Ramos Alayo, Ceci Chevere and many others. THE LAST MAMBO unearths rare photographs and presents newly captured performances featuring Benny Velarde, Louis Romero and Roberto Borrell.

The final version of THE LAST MAMBO will have a running time of 60 minutes (consisting of 53:25 minutes of final programming, allowing for 6:75 minutes of enhanced underwriting for PBS and network TV). THE LAST MAMBO is currently in production and scheduled to be released on PATOIS RECORDS in the spring of 2013.
THE LAST MAMBO is being produced in collaboration with East Bay Media Center; also the Fiscal Agent for the project. All equipment, editing, lighting, production and post production is being executed by East Bay Media Center and its facilities under the direction of Paul Kealoha Blake. Mr.Blake is providing all videographic and editing services.
In the effort to raise funds for post-production, THE LAST MAMBO has launched a KICKSTARTER campaign to raise $9500 by May 23, 2012. (All KICKSTARTER donations are tax-deductible).
