Piano-centric jazz festival that will feature international lineup is expected to draw many attendees this year.

For Neville Dickie, tickling the ivories is as natural as breathing.

The British musician's piano performances leave audiences stunned, both for their technical adeptness and colorful moments of improvised brilliance.

Dickie, who plays stride and boogie-woogie piano, will be one of 19 performers at this weekend's Orange County Classic Jazz Festival at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa.

“It's a famous festival," hotel General Manager Shaun Robinson said. “The sheer volume is amazing, and it's all under one roof. It's known as one of Costa Mesa's finest events."

Festival organizers provide top-of-the-line Kawai pianos for their performers' use; musicians wrote a new song, “Costa Mesa USA," to commemorate the longtime festival and the town that helps put it on.

The Hilton's hotel rooms have been sold out for weeks, filled with locals and visitors who love the sounds of early, New Orleans-style jazz.
