Three Great Local Blues Bands

The event will feature three outstanding Chester County blues bands. Each band will perform a set of approximately 90 minutes. It will be a fantastic afternoon and evening featuring some great blues music!

Voodoo DeVille: formed in 1998, Voodoo Deville has become a staple in the Chester County music scene, performing at Sportsters, Saint Peter's Inn, Ron's Schoolhouse, as well as many private events. According to the band, “It's never failed—when we have fun, our audience has fun. And that's why we do it."

The Alligators Blues Band: Since 1994, The Alligators have been entertaining Blues fans from Reading to Philly in a wide variety of venues. They have made the Blues pilgrimage to New Orleans, where they opened for the famed Rebirth Brass Band. The band primarily features the Chicago Blues Style, but also covers swing, rock and roll, and rockabilly styles.

Blue Cat Blues Band: From Wilmington, Delaware, the fabulous Blue Cat Blues Band plays good-time, party music that gets your foot to tapping. They've been featured at the renowned Wilmington Riverfront Blues Fest. Expect some great harmonica blues from this four man musical explosion.

About Coventry Lions of Pennsylvania

The Coventry Lions Club was chartered in 1958. Since then it has grown and currently has 19 very active members dedicated to the tenets of Lionism. Current projects include a medical equipment loan program, holiday baskets for the less fortunate in our community on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, leader dog training sponsorship, used eyeglasses collection for the LCIF, support for free eye exams and glasses for the less fortunate individuals in the area, an annual scholarship for an Owen J. Roberts high school graduate and much much more.

The club also sponsors a Leo Club at the Owen J. Roberts school district (OJR) Middle school as well as the Lion Cubs, an exciting initiative for students attending any of the five OJR elementary schools. The purpose of the youth program clubs is to instill a sense of civic pride and service responsibilities in today's youth. Find out more about these youth programs by clicking the Youth Programs link located at the top of our web page.

To support these projects, the Coventry Lions club holds various fundraising events to raise awareness of the needs of the sight impaired and funding for the service activities supported by the club.
