The Maestro Luca Luciano is back at the National Theatre after the overwhelming appretiation of his last recital. The performance is held at the “Djanogly Concert Pitch" on September 5th from 6pm to 7.20pm and features the pianist Frank Harrison. Luciano is going to perform his own compositions published in the album “Neapolis" produced by the Red Kite Records (more on www.redkiterecords.co.uk).

Here is what the journalist Jo Laverty wrote about the recital on “Musicians":

“We saw skilled Neapolitan clarinettist/composer Luca Luciano perform at the National Theatre Foyer on April 11th. Joined by a pinist, Luca performed his own compositions which are influenced by composers such as Vivaldi, Debussy, Stravinsky, Poulenc and contemporary jazz artists. His compositions also bear clear hints of folk as well as typical “Neapolitan" lyricism and melodic sense".

Luca Luciano is a “classically trained Italian virtuoso now resident in London" ("Jazz UK") who is also much appreciated in the UK and overseas for his very unique style ("Jazz Journal International" wrote about avant garde) and the quality of his compositions also quoted in books about the clarinet repertoire. He starts his career at a very young age (only twelve) performing at one of the most prestigious and ancient concert-halls of his home town Naples and appears on television nationwide live aged only twenty-one. He has accumulated experience in both the jazz and the classical field, got a Bachelor in Music at the Conservatoire of Salerno (Italy) and a 600-hour-post-graduate-course on music entrepreneurship founded by the E.C.C.

His extent experience includes: jazz clubs and festivals in the UK and throughout Italy ("Teignmouth South Devon Jazz Festival" 2003/2005, “London Jazz on the Streets Midsummer Festival", “Politeama Theatre" in Naples, “Giugliano Jazz Festival 2001" which featured Mike Stern, E. Rava, E. Pierannunzi, etc.) but also within the classical field (Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Victoria & Albert Museum, “Centro Studi Erich Fromm" of Naples, etc), TV performances (recording for RTE national TV broadcast of Ireland, live nationwide at RAI2 as guest soloist and arranger); solid studio sessions experience; orchestra ("Cork Opera Works" EIRE in the 2005, at the “Diana Theatre" of Naples 1996/97/98) and chamber music.

In other words a concert that promises to be superbe!!
