On Monday, December 3, 2013 Chet Williamson made his debut as the new host of the drive time hours of Jazz Matinee. This popular radio show features everything under the umbrella of the great American art form known as jazz, paying particular attention to local, regional, and emerging artists. As both a writer and musician, Williamson brings to the program an extensive knowledge, an insider’s connection, and passion for the music. (He is the author of the Jazz Worcester Real Book.) It began in 1969 as Worcester's Inter-Collegiate Network, joining The College of the Holy Cross and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with other local colleges. WICN became a member of National Public Radio in 1980, and was accredited by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in 1987.
