Harlem Meer Performance Festival Presents THE ALEX BLAKE GROUP Sunday, June 18, 2006, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

The Harlem Meer is located inside Central Park at 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues

Alex Blakde is one of the most popular and original bassists on the New York jazz scene. Blake has toured and recorded with jazz greats including Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, and The Manhattan Transfer-- just the tip of a very long list. He's also known for his role as the flamenco-styled percussive bassist with Randy Weston's African Rhythms Band. Now Blake steps up as a composer and bandleader in his own right, with a great new quartet featuring pianist Ted Cruz (Aerosmith, production work) sax player/flutist Chris Hunter (Michael Franks, Joe Jackson) and the hottest drummer around New York, Victor Jones (Stan Getz, Little Jimmy Scott, Stanley Turrentine, and the Mingus Big Band).

Blake's debut performance is sure to heat up the stage at Central Park's Harlem Meer on Sunday, June 18, 2006. Show starts at 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Come early with your Daddy and get set for a wonderful afternoon of excellent entertainment!

Blake's new CD In Motion will be available for purchase: a great gift for Dad!
