Tickets are on sale now to see Jazz artist Tamela D'Amico celebrate her New York City debut at the Metropolitan Room in New York City of her self-titled jazz CD release: The Tamela D'Amico Album. Peter Krause, most noted for his character of Nate on HBO's Six Feet Under" and now starring in ABC's Dirty Sexy Money," has executive produced the album which has received rave reviews.
The Tamela D'Amico Album showcases the multi-talented artist who also happens to be an award-winning filmmaker. D'Amico recently had a stint on the Spielberg reality series On the Lot". A singer, an actress and a film director; she has just wrapped production starring in the independent films On a Dark and Stormy Night" (release Halloween 2008) and West of Brooklyn" (Fall 2008). Tamela D'Amico, a Los Angeles based artist, was born in New York and spent her childhood between New York and Florida. Her run at the Metropolitan Room is homecoming of sorts.
Mark your calendars for February 2, 7, 8, 9 for the 10 :00 p.m. show when Tamela D'Amico takes on the intimate Metropolitan Room with a smaller sized band than her normal Big Band. She will perform songs from her debut jazz CD release produced by Grammy winner Jimmy Hoyson and arranged by Grammy nominee Chris Walden as well as other jazz standards. Like young jazz music artists before her, she is intent on keeping the sounds of jazz and The Great American Songbook alive. D'Amico first became known to Los Angeles audiences and the jazz scene after winning a vocal competition sponsored by a local Clear Channel radio station.
