Sydney Band - Viva the Band at Australia Day Celebrations 2009

Whether you’re in the city, on the coast or in a regional area of Australia, there are over 5,000 events that celebrate everything that’s great about being Australian.

On The Northern Beaches on Sydney, Warringah Council will be conducting a Circus theme for Australia day with events to delight all family members.

The multicultural aspect of the event is catered for with a local Northern Beaches band called Viva. They will be presenting international music from France, Spain, Russia, Argentina, Brazil and Cuba along with a standard fare of jazz and swing music.



Viva the band is highly regarded for their successful appearances at many Festivals and Council and community events in NSW and Queensland including: The Manly International Jazz Festival, Thredbo Jazz Festival, Newcastle Jazz Festival, Kiama Jazz Festival, Morpeth Jazz Festival. Marrickville festival, Campsie festival, Ferragosto festival, Canada Bay, Kings Cross festival, Darling Harbour welcome wall, Gold coast and Coolum events and Hervey Bay Whale festival ..to name a few



The members of Viva the band have also performed throughout Asia with over 400 concerts to American and Australian armed forces in Sth Vietnam, Thailand, The Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Guam and Japan.



Viva the band is noted for its cultural work representing Australia at the International Chihsi Arts Festival in Taiwan in 2004 and Kenting song Festival in 2005.



The Australia Day events will be held at Berry Reserve, Narrabeen on the 26th January
