From Suzanne Cloud, Executive Director and Co-Founder Jazz Bridge Project:

I'm happy to announce that Jazz Bridge has an angel who will back our Kickstarter Project ("Jazz in the Neighborhood") to the tune of $1,500 if our total reaches $4,500. Right now we're at $3,310!

It would be absolutely wonderful if you could contribute $5, $10, or $25 to buy some tickets to our long-running Neighborhood Concerts series this season through Kickstarter.

We only have three days left. If we don't make our goal, we get no money at all (and no money is taken from your credit card). These concerts provide performance opportunities for over 160 musicians from October through May in five locations: Collingswood, NJ; Media; Cheltenham; Kennett Square; and Old City Philadelphia, PA.

Our angel wishes to remain anonymous, but you don't have to. Please support our Kickstarter campaign and get us to $4,500.

Bassist Jason Fifield will tell you all about it in this video! (below)

Thanks for ALL your support in the past - jazz lives because of you.

Jazz Bridge produces 40 concerts a year of the best jazz and blues musicians in the Philadelphia area. Help us keep the music playing!

Jazz Bridge is a Philadelphia-based group that produces five Neighborhood Concerts Series every season from October through May featuring the Philadelphia region's finest jazz and blues artists performing mostly original music at five venues: the Collingswood Community Center in NJ, and in PA - the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, the Unitarian Church in Media, the Kennett Flash in Kennett Square, and the Arch Street Friends Meeting in historic Old Philly - all nonprofit venues. We keep our ticket prices low so audiences of all economic groups can attend and noted jazz videographer Jason Fifield films almost every concert to upload to our nonprofit You Tube site, which promotes Philadelphia's unique jazz sound. Our Neighborhood Concerts provide performance opportunities to our local artists to showcase their new works in a supportive atmosphere and pays all the musicians on stage a living wage. Together, every season, over 160 musicians make over $18,000, which helps the music community pay its bills.

This year we're featuring bands led by:

In Cheltenham, PA - 10/3: Drummer Leon Jordan, 11/7: Alto saxophonist Tony Williams, 12/5: Singer Jill Salkin, 1/2: Bassist Ed Wise and his New Orleans Jazz Band, 2/6: Singer Paula Johns, 3/6: Bassist Nimrod Speaks, 4/3: Singer Denise Montana, 5/1: Blues singer Kitty Mayo

In return for your support of our campaign, you will receive tickets (which will be held for you at the door) to any of our concerts this coming season, a season pass (a great gift!), or you can sponsor an entire series and get your name out there big time!

Don't miss this opportunity to buy some tickets or sponsor a series to help pay the venue rentals to keep this project going. With all the cutbacks in arts funding for the schools, our neighborhood concerts serve as a way for families to see live music near their homes. Our concerts also provide original, improvisational music at low cost for seniors as well. Help us reach our goal to keep providing the best jazz in the Greater Philadelphia Metro area!
