Sony Holland is a warm, inviting performer whose clear voice and unaffected style has endeared her to fans of vocal jazz and acoustic music. As KCSM DJ Pete Fallico says, “Her performances are a vocal experience not to be missed... with smooth delivery; lyrical pleasure and heartfelt emotion." Ms. Holland got her start by busking at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco before going on to headline top Bay Area jazz venues such as Yoshi's, The Rrazz Room and Jazz At Pearl's. Now based in Los Angeles she has appeared in many prestigious jazz festivals and clubs around the world.

Sony is currently touring in support of her new CD, “SANSSOUCI." The disc takes a stylistic turn to a more acoustic sound, featuring Sony backed by an organic trio of acoustic guitar, upright bass and djembe drum. As jazz critic Arnaldo Desouteiros says, “This enchanting CD combines elegance, delicacy, sensitivity & musical joy... The mixing of Sony Holland's soulful vocals with the sparse, ingenious instrumentation is pure pleasure." About the title track she says, “SANSSOUCI is a wonderful song written by Rufus Wainwright. It refers to a summer palace built by King Frederick of Prussia in 1745. Both the song and the palace bring to mind a certain glorious despair, a sense of grandness and loss at the same time." Sony will be accompanied by her guitarist/husband Jerry Holland who also plays on the CD along with pianist Robbie Kondor, bassist David Hughes, percussionist Kendall Kay and cellist Wolf Sebastian.
