Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival 2011 - Line-up Announced!

The 9th edition of the Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival will occupy multiple days on Dubai's calendar of entertainment and fun starting February 1st, 2011 till the 18th of the same month, hosting 37 international bands, several venues and stages.

Festival headliners have their musical armory at the ready! This year's unique line-up includes Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra featuring Gilson Lavis and guest vocalists Ruby Turner & Louise Marshall, Pop Icon Alison Moyet. Macy Gray, TRAIN, Lifehouse, Joshua Radin, Mindi Abair & Peter White, Mica Paris, and Jessy J, amongst a list of 37 plus performers who will be participating at the festival throughout 18 days.

“We are very excited to welcome this long list of outstanding and award winning artists to the Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival this year, which caps off a good season of many outdoor concerts, ranging between free and paid shows, which we were very keen to offer them at wallet friendly prices" said Anthony Younes, founder and organizer of the festival.

This year, the festival gets started with its activities and series of free concerts at The Walk—JBR of which details will be announced soon, followed by the 3rd edition of the Jazz Garden coming back with another one week of intensive Jazz shows at the Dubai Media City Amphitheater hosting 14 bands, two shows per night, with the world's best Jazz artists and performers leading to the main 3 nights of concerts featuring the headliners line-up.

The festival maintains its lovely chilled atmosphere, all set on a gorgeous site with comfortable seating and seating-free zones, a chilled F&B village and its remarkable Arts and Crafts exposition. “The fans experience is what we've always prided ourselves on and this year we promise to continue this tradition with another roster of breathtaking artists and high-energy entertainment."
