The Hardest-Working Live Band In Jazz -- The Skip Heller Combo -- have added Seattle to their Northwest junket. The schedule is now: Thursday, May 15: The Mars Bar, Seattle WA Friday, May 16: Jimmy Mak's, Portland, OR Saturday, May 17: Jo Federigo's

Heller's recent release HOMEGOING (Innova) was one of the most praised organ jazz records in recent memory everywhere from Jambands.com to Downbeat and All About Jazz: “A minor masterpiece... a killer band liable to swing anything" (St Paul Star Tribune") lead by a guitarist/composer “whose talent and scope are enormous" (All About Jazz). Downbeat awarded the disc four stars, and the East Bay Express called Heller “the kind of artist majo labels want you to think doesn't exist."

Dates on boths coasts and through the Midwest quickly established the band as a must-see live act. The swing hard, groove deep, and play every note like they mean it. Mixing hard bop, funk, pre-bop, klezmer music, and Sun Ra-ish arkestration, Heller and company are a must-see who make the stage sweat.
