SFJAZZ Announces Election of New Board Chair and New Members to Board of Trustees

SFJAZZ ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF NEW BOARD CHAIR SRINIJA SRINIVASAN AND APPOINTMENT OF FOUR NEW MEMBERSTO ITS BOARD OF TRUSTEES

(San Francisco, CA) -- Randall Kline, Executive Director of SFJAZZ, the leading non-profit jazz organization on the West Coast and the presenter of the San Francisco Jazz Festival, today announced the election of a new board chair and four additions to its board of trustees. Vice President and Editor in Chief of Yahoo! Inc. Srinija Srinivasan was voted in as the new board chair at the board's December meeting. The four new board members voted in at the same meeting are Bill Bowes, Del Anderson Handy, Kyle J. Goldman, and Thurman White. Kline said, “As we prepare for the 25th Anniversary of SFJAZZ, we are thrilled about the election of Ms. Srinivasan and the appointment of these new Board Members. Their extensive, wide-ranging experience and valuable leadership will be an asset to the future growth of SFJAZZ." New board chair Srinivasan, one of the first five employees at Yahoo!, said of her new board responsibilities, “SFJAZZ has an incredibly strong presenting history and expertise-- in between Randall Kline and Spring Season & SFJAZZ Collective Artistic Director Joshua Redman, we possess extraordinary curatorial talent. I want to give that as secure a future as possible. There's no greater contribution to the art form than to showcase the form and nurture the artists."

The four new board members bring a diverse set of skills to the SFJAZZ Board of Trustees. Bill Bowes, a prominent Bay Area venture capitalist with successes including Amgen, Cetys, and Raychem, is founder of U.S. Venture Partners. Del Anderson Handy is the former chancellor of City College of San Francisco, and currently serves as president of Academic Enterprises. Kyle J. Goldman worked for 20 years at a major semiconductor company in Silicon Valley, and currently works as real estate developer in San Jose. And Thurman White is the chief executive officer of Progress Investments Management Company, and has been a member of the California Bar since 1981.
