Randall Kline, the Executive Artistic Director of SFJAZZ--the leading nonprofit jazz organization on the West Coast and the presenter of the San Francisco Jazz Festival-- today announced the complete artist lineup for the 11th Annual SFJAZZ Spring Season. The unique and spectacular five-month-long concert series begins on February 19 and continues through June 12. The season will present some of the most illustrious names in jazz, world and related music. See the full schedule beginning on page 6.

“For the 11th Annual SFJAZZ Spring Season, SFJAZZ is once again offering a myriad of amazing artists and an array of experiences that you'll not likely find in the Bay Area--or elsewhere," said Kline. “It's a strange and wonderful paradox that jazz, and related musics, require tremendous unity of purpose but also reflect the passions of incredibly diverse musicians. In some of the groups we present at SFJAZZ, literally every person on stage is from a different country. Yet they perform together as one, whether playing a melody in unison or creating complex sonic textures for layered improvisation. The same can be said about SFJAZZ audiences. Our shows attract jazz fans of every stripe. Our audiences may include people with direct ties to India, Argentina, Norway, Cuba and beyond. Regardless, each of us experiences the unifying, inspiring power of great music."

11th ANNUAL SFJAZZ SPRING SEASON HIGHLIGHTS & THEMES

“We are fully committed to diverse 'thematic' programming and we strive to present every conceivable style of jazz and world music, from trio to big band, hard bop to post-modern and traditional to contemporary," explains Kline.
