Gaute Solaas is working on bringing together a new line-up with fellow Norwegian saxophonists Trygve Seim and Tore Brunborg, to be named SERPENTINE. The band will go live spring 2010, and is currently looking for bookings in Europe.

The material is largely Solaas own, but the Serpentine book will be augmented by Seim and Brunborg along the way.

Stylistically the band hovers between the modern North-American and the modern Scandinavian traditions, with a focus on blending the two into a new and updated sound.

The sound can be described as somewhere between Andy Milne s “Dapp Theory" and Arild Andersen s “Masqualero".
