September marks the end of summer but there's still great jazz at Charlie O's to enjoy.

Beginning with a wedding celebration for Pete & Linda Christlieb, outstanding big bands every Monday, several new guest artists and lots of returning favorites, the great Slide Hyde making a rare Los Angeles appearance, Jon Mayer's 70th birthday celebration and a CD Release/Birthday Party combo with Brandino & Friends.

Just a brief update on John Heard - we spoke several times this week and he is doing just great and hopes to return to performing here in November.

We are open on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, and the Bruce Eskovitz Jazz Orchestra (8 Pieces) will perform that evening. There will not be a cover charge for this Monday performance. It's a great band so if you get tired of hanging out at the pool, come on in for a real treat. Check them out at www.bruceescovitz.com

Our regular Monday big band performances return with the Steve Huffsteter Big Band (www.stevehuffsteter.com) on the 8th; the Gary Urwin Jazz Orchestra featuring Bill Watrous and Pete Christlieb (www.garyurwinjazz.com) perform on the 15th; the Med Flory Supersax Jazz Wave Big Band will be here on the 22nd; and the great Frank Capp Juggernaut Big Band on the 29th - Frank wanted to celebrate his birthday again but we told him he has to wait until next August! Please come out to support the efforts of these great jazz musicians doing what they do best. There is a $20 cash cover charge every Monday which is good for the entire evening. Please make reservations early as they are required for big band nights.
