Russian Guitarist Has Won The 1st Prize Of The 18th Annual USA Songwriting Competition

Guitarist, composer and bandleader Roman Miroshnichenko has won the 1st prize at the 18th Annual USA Songwriting Competition in the “Instrumental" category for his composition “Desperation" which appears on his latest album Surreal.

The USA Songwriting Competition, the world's leading international songwriting event honors songwriters, composers, bands, and recording artists. Winners were selected by a Blue Ribbon committee of music industry judges including record label publishers, producers from SONY Music, Warner/Reprise Records, etc.

Roman Miroshnichenko is one of the most prominent virtuosos in Russian contemporary jazz and is an Independent Music Awards winner. He was also nominated for and won both the regular and People's Choice popular vote judging. During his illustrious career, Miroshnichenko has performed or recorded with world-renowned musicians including: Al Di Meola, Larry Coryell, Djivan Gasparyan, Dominique di Piazza, Daniel “Pipi" Piazzoll, Frank Colon, Joao Donato, Marco Mendoza, Saskia Laroo, Richie Cole, and Milcho Leviev.

Since 2003, Miroshnichenko and his band have toured ex-USSR and European countries and is a frequent visitor and headliner to several prestigious jazz festivals.
