Roy Campbell Day Memorial At Roulette

On Wednesday, February 26, the many dear friends and associates of the late Roy Sinclair Campbell Jr. will gather at Roulette through the efforts of Arts for Art.

The performance begins at 6:45.

A Slide Show featuring The Music of Roy Campbell

6:45PM - 7:00PM

Valerie Morris, Roy Campbell's sister, will recall his remarkable life.

7:00PM - 7:15PM

An Opening Song and Prayer will be offered by Fay Victor, Charles Downs, Andy Bemkey and his lifelong friend, William Parker.

7:15PM - 7:30PM

The Ahkenaten Ensemble will summon Roy to recall his bright moments at its center. Brian Carrott, Hilliard Greene, Jason Kao Hwang and Warren Smith.

7:30PM - 7:45PM

This will be followed by the Hempstead Louis Armstrong Jazz Program ensemble with Bobby Sanabria, Craig Harris, Charenee Wade, Bruce Edwards = 31085},{{Donald Hanson, Hill Greene, Chris Sullivan, Bevin Turnbull and Christine Bard.

7:45PM - 8:00PM

This is met by a Stephanie Stone interlude onPiano

8:00PM - 8:15PM

Nemesis takes its turn with Matt Lavelle, Lewis Barnes, Asim Barnes and Warren Smith.

8:15PM - 8:30PM

A Solo follows.

8:30PM - 8:45PM

The Tazz Quartet rises to its turn with Joe McPhee, Andy Bemkey, Chris Sullivan and Michael T.A. Thompson.

8:45PM - 9:00PM

The NU Band adds its recollections to the moment with Mark Whitecage, Joe Fonda and Lou Grassi.

9:00PM - 9:15PM

4 for Roy follows a brief pause with tributes, testimony and appreciation from William Hooker, Connie Crothers, Daniel Carter and Ras Moshe.

9:30PM - 9:45PM

A short documentary by Robert O'Haire and Michael Lucio Sternbach follows.

9:45PM - 10:00PM

And the evening concludes with a very large ensemble paying their respects through the portal of Roy Campbell's “Thanks to the Creator"

Roy Campbell's sister, Valerie Morris, has set up a Roy Campbell Fund. At the Memorial there is a suggested donation of $20 that will go to the Roy Campbell Fund
