Richie Cole Alto Madness with Manhattan Transfer's Tim Hauser at Catalina's

Published:
Richie Cole The great Alto saxophonist Richie Cole joined by Tim Hauser of Manhattan Transfer at Catalina's in Hollywood for one night only.

Richie masters blazing bebop as well as soulful ballads. He has over 50 records and more than 3,000 compositions and arrangements to his credit today. He's performed and recorded with many jazz greats, including Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton, Doc Severinsen, The Manhattan Transfer, Eddie Jefferson, Freddy Hubbard, Sonny Stitt, James Moody, Art Pepper and Anita O'Day. Richie recorded his latest CD—"Castle Bop"—at a concert at the Prague Castle.

Tim Hauser the founder of The Manhattan Transfer, always strived to have their image dovetail with their music. In the early days, that image helped them gain recognition. Tim is a gifted producer as well. He takes the whole concept of an album idea from beginning to end. By interweaving their talents in arranging and performing along with their image, he successfully brings it all together in the albums that he produces, and used his producing skills with other artists, including Richie Cole's “Pop Bop."
