Reggie Workman's Sculptured Sounds Music Festival - Final Concert Sunday, Feb. 25

Don't miss the fourth and final concert of this historic concert series this Sunday, February 25. It's in celebration of Black History and the concert is free/By Love Donation (if you love the music, please make a donation). Sunday's concert is a triple treat featuring:

SOJOURNER - This nouveau string ensemble trio dares to explore diverse musical genres of Jazz, Pop, R&B, Latin, Funk, Avant-Garde and Hip-Hop (Nioka Workman), Judith Insell (Viola), Marlene Rice (Violin) and Calvin Jones (Bass).



MATT GARRISON - Son of Jimmy Garrison, this electric Bassist dynamo has played with such jazz luminaries as Herbie Hancock and Jack DeJonette. He's been compared to Jaco and is gaining a reputation for redefining the electric bass! He's joined this concert for an all-out “improviganza" by Kevin Jones (perc) and E.J. Strickland!



THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN LEGACY PROJECT (AALP)-A glorious 20-piece orchestra and 20-piece chorus co-created by Workman and Tolliver to celebrate the legacy and future of African-American Music. Conducted by Blue Note Trumpet Titan, Charles Tolliver, witness history in the making as jazz stalwarts (such as Billy Harper, Howard Johnson and Workman are joined by offspring (Nioka & Matt) and protgs dedicated to carrying the music forward. Featuring the music of John Coltrane, Cal Massey, Tolliver & Workman Also featured are vocalists Dean Bowman and Judy Bady!
