Joni Mitchell is hands down one of the greatest songwriters in the musical canon. With my recording, I hope to stay true to her approach while still expressing my own unique style," says Kevin Sandbloom. The sensitivity and layers in her music have inspired so many musicians and I am no exception. I look forward to exposing a whole new generation of fans to her work."
The year 2011 will be a busy one for Sandbloom as he puts the finishing touches on Blue. It will be immediately followed by his seventh studio recording of original material, Sugafied. He is excited about the opportunity to pay homage to Joni Mitchell.
The songs on Blue touched me deeply on a personal and professional level. You'd be hard pressed to find a song writer who doesn't respect Joni Mitchell's legacy. I just want to express how much these songs have meant to me by exposing my audiences to them. My prayer is that I do them justice," says Sandbloom.
