The Cornelia Street Cafe Celebrates Its 35th Anniversary!
This July, 2012, The Cornelia Street Café, a true New York City landmark, an epicurean destination, an artist's café that cultivates and inspires, and one of the few remaining Greenwich Village bastions for creative music, spoken word, art, theatre, cabaret and much more, Celebrates its 35th Anniversary
The Cornelia Street Cafe opened for business on July 4, 1977, with a toaster oven and a cappuccino machine in one room. Over the last 35 years it has quintupled in size (now with two kitchens, three dining rooms, one of the Village's loveliest sidewalk cafes, two full bars with a distinguished wine program, and the downstairs cabaret), and has won numerous awards, both for its cuisine and its performances.
