Jazz radio host and All About Jazz contributor Ed Blanco, in May 2020 celebrates 13 years as producer and host of Jazz Café, an early Sunday morning jazz show on WDNA, 88.9FM in Miami, Florida. Beginning on Mother’s Day of 2007, Ed has been playing and promoting some of the best in straight ahead jazz presenting be bop, hard bop, vocals, big bands as well as different genres from Brazilian, fusion to the standards.
Reviewing new music on AAJ" helped Ed find a new niche when playing jazz, as his many reviews and album submissions for airplay, have come from lesser known independent artists who are financially unable to distribute their music accordingly. Ed has been there to help young artists promote their music which, has been the most satisfying of all his jazz activities. In addition, his involvement as a radio host and writer, has led him to produce three albums and several concerts.
Congratulations Ed, may you keep swinging for another 13 years!
