This week, Cuban Jazz Pianist Elio Villafranca was a featured guest on the show and discussed his musical fusion style, history, performance techniques, upcoming performances and his most recent album The Source In Between. Villafranca was classically trained in percussion and composition at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana Cuba. Since his arrival in the U.S. in late 1995, he has been involved in jazz and Latin jazz scenes on both the East and West coasts and is currently based in New York City. He is a MacBook Pro and Logic Pro 8 avid user. Spud Too Tight has produced high profiled Hollywood celebrity endorsed radio PSA's, music for television and radio spots including a 2 year run with the Award Winning Solid Gold Radio Show on ABC, Smooth Jazz FM and a national docu-drama. Spud studied guitar for three years and music theory at the McPhail School for the Arts, University of Minnesota. He has been a resident in the Twin Cities for 20 years.
