Popular Turkish summer spot Bodrum will host two Polish jazz female vocalists this week. Already known to Turkish audience, Anna Maria Jopek in Bodrum Castle, and the “new hope of jazz scene," Aga Zaryan, in Cabo Verde club in Yalkavak Marina, are going to give their concerts tonight.

Enthusiasts of warm female jazz vocals will face a difficult choice tonight. Two great voices from the Polish music scene are coming to Bodrum to perform in two separate concerts. Aga Zaryan, also known under her real name, Agnieszka Skrzypek, is coming to Turkey for her very first concert in the city and is looking forward to finding some new inspiration for the future here. Listeners gathered at the Cabo Verde club will be kept in suspense until the very last moment, as the artist has not made her final decision regarding her choice of repertoire for the evening. “The concert always depends on my mood," Zaryan told the Turkish Daily News. “In jazz it is all about improvisation. Sometimes I'm in ballad mood, other times I want to play more energetically. In Turkey, it will be my guest performance and I won't perform with my regular squad this time, so simply anything can happen." Zaryan will be accompanied by Tony Jones on double bass, Monica Bulanda on drums, famous Turkish trumpeter enova lker and pianist Uraz Kvaner, with whom she used to play during her past performances in Poland.

Aga Zaryan has already released three solo albums. Singing mostly in English, she surprised the public with her latest production, titled “Umiera Piekno" (Beauty Is Dying), released for the 63rd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. As many expected, the record was a patriotic routine and in it Zaryan presented top-class interpretations of well-known standards.
