Sunday from 5 PM – 7 PM EST 90.1 FM WDCE Richmond Listen online via live webcast

Archived shows uploaded to freedomjazzdance.net two days after each live broadcast.

Tune in to Freedom Jazz Dance this Sunday for the unstoppable sound of freedom in the groove with the latest, greatest performers and rare recordings throughout the history of jazz.

This week on FJD I’ll be featuring a completely overlooked recording by the superb trumpeter John McNeil. I’ll be cueing up selections from Kenny Dorham, Sergio Mendez, plenty of rare grooves on vinyl and shellac, as well as my trademark Two Of A Kind and Records From Aunt Ruth segments. Feel free to call in with your trash or treasure vote during Records From Aunt Ruth at 804-289-UR90.

90.1 FM WDCE - The only station in Richmond that brings you a full day of jazz! Every Sunday, it starts with Herb’s adventurous Soundwaves show at 9 AM – 1 PM, Claude picks up the reins with his long-standing jazz set at 1 pm, followed by Bud Tyler with his absolutely swingin’ show at 3 pm and then Freedom Jazz Dance takes to the air until 7 and sometimes beyond. Jazz is smokin’ on all cylinders Sundays in 90.1 FM WDCE!

Missed the last show? The latest FJD show is uploaded by Tuesday of each week for your listening pleasure. Just double click on the Radio blog file and listen to Freedom Jazz Dance in the comfort of your cubicle. Playlists and record covers are posted each week as well. Feel free to blog away and talk jazz. I’d love to hear from you!

Dig.
