Guitar maestro Phil Keaggy has joined forces with his Glass Harp band mate, drummer John Sferra, and keyboardist Jack Giering to create some of the tastiest jazz-funk licks to come out of Music City in a long, long time. Releasing today, The Phil Keaggy Trio's Inter-Dimensional Traveler features 12 brand new tunes ranging in sonic vitality from Traffic to Booker T & the MGs to Jeff Beck, with an eclectic mix of guitar styles that fans love to hear from Phil Keaggy thrown in for good measure.

The album title, taken from one of the project's songs, is a poignant rumination on the fine line between the dimensions of life and death. It was penned by veteran musician Jack Giering, who has survived a series of devastating heart attacks as well as an emergency tracheotomy which robbed him of most of his voice.

“Jack literally came back from the dead," Keaggy muses. “He has a perspective on the journey between the dimensions of life and death that I don't."

In Inter-Dimensional Traveler, Keaggy & company have delivered an instrumental project that plumbs the heights and depths of joy along the journey. It is fun and fresh, at times digging into a gritty guitar groove before soaring up in a swelling keyboard windstorm.

This is not the first time these three virtuoso players have combined forces. Sferra and Keaggy are members of the seminal rock band Glass Harp, which remains active today. Both players backed Giering on his recent solo project, Lone Wolf.

One of the world's most beloved musicians, Phil Keaggy's solo career has spanned more than 30 years and has included over 50 solo albums, both vocal and instrumental, as well as 8 releases with his band, Glass Harp. Widely recognized for his phenomenal guitar playing as well as his vocal and songwriting prowess, he has received numerous accolades and awards for his music, including seven Dove Awards and a Grammy nomination. Keaggy was inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2007, and was named one of the Top 10 best rock singers in Christian music history by GospelMusicChannel.com in 2009. He has been named one of the “25 Most Underrated Guitarists" by Rolling Stone Magazine alongside Prince, The Beatles' lead guitarist George Harrison, Kurt Cobain, Neil Young and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham. One of the most sought-after studio guitarists on the planet, Keaggy also continues to sell out concerts all over the United States with his ever-changing style, ranging from rock & roll to fully orchestrated instrumental compositions.

The Phil Keaggy Trio's Inter-Dimensional Traveler will be available from Strobie Records. For more information on Phil Keaggy and his new album, Inter-Dimensional Traveler, visit Philkeaggy.com
