Brand New CD “RED HOT AND REAL GONE" for Sale at the Event

Peekskill, NY: There will be dancing and swinging at the River Front on August 6th from 6:00-7:00pm, as the Peekskill River Front Music Festival showcases Duchess and the Distractions—the incomparable 8 piece band capturing a bygone era with their hip blend of Risqué blues, jump and swing, Bringing the fabulous 40's back. Fans of American roots music like Swing, rockabilly and early rock and roll have been thrilled to discover this new band. Their repertoire from the 40's and 50's include cover by artists such as Ruth Brown, Dinah Washington, Louis Jordan, and Louis Prima. These guys are “Dillinger"! They were featured at the Peekskill Jazz and Blues 2008 & 2009 to crowds of 3000 plus and reviewed in Big City Blues Magazine and were the Cover Story of the Journal News. They performed for The Small Town Theater concert series in 2010 and for the reception for the Royal Family's “Prince Harry" at the Greenwich County Club Summer of 2010. Nicked named “Baby Ruth" because of her Ruth Brown Covers, The Duchess' infectious smile and energy will capture the heart of any room. Formerly a folk and country singer and songwriter, Di has performed in the NYC and tri-state area for the last 20 years. She was a member of the City Folk organization and has appeared at many top venues including Kenny's Castaways, The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, The Speak Easy, The Turning Point and the 12 Grapes in Peekskill, NY. Di has also performed at the Sullivan County University concert series and is a regular guest on the Hartland Hayride for the WDVR FM 2-hour live musical country variety show. She has appeared on the main stage of the Raritan County Fair in front of 2,000 and more recently, to an audience of 3,000 at the Peekskill Jazz and Blues Celebration. Di currently has 3 privately released CDs.
