After a two-year recording, during which she was awarded a 2003 Guggenheim Fellowship Award, the singular jazz singer-songwriter-pianist PATRICIA BARBER is back with her first live album since 1999's Companion. Her quartet (guitarist Neal Alger, bassist Mike Arnopol & Eric Montzka) has become a highly intuitively unit, a fact to which the ten performances on her new Blue Note recording Live: A Fortnight In France (release date: Sept. 7, 2004) testify.

“The most convincing jazz singer-songwriter since Peggy Leee, her dark imagery, gripping interpretations and propulsive piano playing are among the great wonders of contemporary music" ~Don Heckman, The Los Angeles Times
