NPR Music and WBGO/Jazz88.3FM, the NPR Member station in Newark, NJ, reunite for their 25th year of co-producing Toast of the Nation, to air Thursday, December 31, from 8:00PM-5:00AM(ET) on NPR Member stations nationwide. And again this year, WGBH Radio in Boston will be co-producer of the broadcast. For local NPR stations and broadcast times, visit NPR or WBGO, where you can also stream the broadcast live on New Year's Eve.

Jazz Journalists Association Award winner for Clarinetist of the Year 2009, Anat Cohen, kicks things off at Boston's Berklee College of Music at 8pm EST. Then, the broadcast will take listeners across the nation in real time as the New Year is celebrated in every time zone with some very special guests. NPR's Lisa Simeone anchors the nine hour broadcast.

8:00 pm - Anat Cohen follows her muse from “Struttin' with Some Barbecue" and “Jitterbug Waltz" to dances from Cuba, Argentina and Brazil at Berklee Performance Center in Boston, hosted by Eric Jackson of WGBH Radio/Boston.

9:30 pm - John Pizzarelli's “Dear Mr. Sinatra," featuring the Swing Seven, will be playing songs by Frank and more at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

11:00 pm - The Bad Plus, who made one of NPR's 50 Most important Recordings of the Decade, ring in the new year on the East Coast at the Village Vanguard in New York, hosted by WBGO's Josh Jackson.

12:15 am - Irvin Mayfield, Grammy nominated New Orleans trumpeter and Minnesota Orchestra Artistic Director of Jazz, counts down to the New Year in the Central Time Zone with his band from the Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant in Minneapolis. Produced with American Public Media, hosted by Toni Randolph.

1:30 am - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy welcome 2010 for both the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones with a Tribute to Cab Calloway, selections from their Christmas record, and more from Los Angeles. The broadcast of the “LA Phil Presents" concert of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy from Walt Disney Concert Hall is made possible through the support of the County of Los Angeles.

4:00 am - Rebroadcast of the Anat Cohen set.

Toast of the Nation was first broadcast by NPR in 1979, and since then has become a New Year's Eve tradition. The 2004 edition was the highest-fidelity live radio broadcast in history, transmitting in 5.1 discrete digital surround sound. The following year, Toast of the Nation became the first live national music program broadcast from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and featured numerous local artists who hadn't performed in their hometown since the disaster.

Thirty years later, the excitement continues as NPR and WBGO present some of the very best live performances in jazz in this unique cross-country holiday party. Log on to WBGO or NPR Music to listen on New Year's Eve and celebrate with us!
