Nonsoft, the independent software. music, and game producer, has recently announced that their lead programmer has potentially broken several world records by creating an engine for audiovisual programs in 64 bytes or less. This is roughly equivalent to less than half the space of a Twitter text message for each tiny program.

Nonsoft has used this new engine to produce short audiovisual programs in 64 bytes or less, as well as interactive demos which respond to user input in 64 to 128 bytes. They have even taken this one step further to produce what may be the worlds smallest graphical Atari programs in as little as 32 bytes of code.

All of these programs from Nonsoft were written in assembly language for the Atari 2600 retro console, one of the most unique and challenging platforms to program, and which still retains a significant fan base among game and music enthusiasts even decades after its initial release in the 1970s.

Nonsoft is no stranger to innovation, having previously gained notoriety for their unique blend of computer-generated music, as well as for their popular Drag Rally / InfiniRacer franchise of racing games which can generate their own race tracks from as many as several million different combinations.

Numerous videos of the record-breaking tiny audiovisual programs from Nonsoft can be found on their official YouTube channels, as well as the Nonsoft Music web site:
