Dutch Jazz & World Meeting 2012 Program Complete

During the second Dutch Jazz & World Meeting, which takes place October 5 & 6, 2012 in Amsterdam, 26 prominent jazz and world music acts from the Netherlands will present themselves to both national as well as international music professionals.

Music Center the Netherlands announced the complete line-up of the showcases.

On Friday October 5 and Saturday October 6, the following acts will perform in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Bimhuis:

Amina Figarova, Baraná Elektro Shaman, Blue Flamingo, BOI AKIH, Celano Baggiani Group, Chambertones, Fugara, Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble, Hybrid 10tet, Kapok, Jungle by Night, Levantasy, The Nordanians, Parne Gadje, PumpOrgan, Ramon Valle, Reijseger/Fraanje/Sylla, Ronald Snijders, Royal Improvisers Orchestra, Rubatong, Skip&Die, Spinifex Quintet, Fondse, Vloeimans, Matangi: Testimoni, Tin Men and the Telephone, Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet, Zapp 4.

All concerts are open for music professionals and the public.

Selection

The showcase program of the second Dutch Jazz & World Meeting has been selected by two independent curators: Michelle Kuypers (North Sea Jazz and Mojo Concerts) and Wim Westerveld (Music Meeting and Chazz Agency).

Conference

Besides showcases, the Dutch Jazz and World Meeting offers a two day conference covering issues within the international jazz and world music fields. Keynote speeches and panels, as well as speeddate sessions and an ‘information market’ complete the program.

Opening Night

The Bimhuis presents an informal Opening Night on Thursday October 4, with the David Kweksilber Big Band.

The biennial Dutch Jazz & World Meeting’s main purpose is to promote the best of new Dutch jazz and world music worldwide. This event welcomes international professionals as well as the entire Dutch music scene. The Dutch Jazz & World Meeting is organized by Music Center the Netherlands in cooperation with Bimhuis, Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ.
