The Blue Room On Historic 18th And Vine Line Up For July 23rd-28th
The Blue Room, one of the Down Beat Magazine’s top ranked jazz clubs, has another week of great performances lined up.
The Blue Monday Jam kicks off on July 23rd with Diverse. Diverse is a local jazz act that keeps the tradition of old jazz alive while at times fusing it with more modern sounds.
On Thursday July 26th, experience the upbeat sounds from Makusa, a sizzling Latin Jazz band that is headlined by Pablo Sanhueza. Sanhueza is one of the top salsa and Latin Jazz band leaders in the Midwest.
Pianist Charles Williams kicks off our weekend acts on Friday July 27th in a show that will feature vocalist Ron Gutierrez. Williams has spent over 40 years playing the piano and Gutierrez is known for his rich powerful vocals.
The weekend closes with the American Jazz Museum’s very own Gerald Dunn and his group Jazz Disciples on Saturday July 28th. This show will also feature guitarist Matt Hopper, who Jam Magazine described as a “Young Lion” in the June/July 2005 issue.
The mission of the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City is to celebrate and exhibit the experience of jazz as an original American art form through Performance, Education, Exhibition and Research.
