The Blue Room On Historic 18th And Vine All-Star Week Line Up

Kansas City, Mo: To celebrate the All-Star game coming to Kansas City the Blue Room is adding extra shows throughout the extravaganza.

The All-Star performances kick off on Thursday July 5th with the Kansas City All-Star Funk Band, Esquire.

Friday July 6th the Kansas City All-Star Blues Band will feature Everette DeVan. DeVan has been a pivotal force on the local Kansas City jazz scene and his talents have allowed him to gain international recognition as well.

One of the world’s foremost jazz guitarists, Danny Embrey, will take part in the Saturday July 7th show with the Kansas City All-Star Jazz Band. Embrey’s decade spanning career has led him from appearances on Solid Gold and The Merv Griffin Show to performing for the Regan family in the White House.

The Blue Room will hold a special All-Star Gospel Brunch from 1pm-4pm on Sunday July 8th. The cost for this rare Sunday show in the Blue Room is $10.

Bobby Watson leads the Kansas City All-Star Big Band on Monday July 9th. Watson is a legendary talent and widely regarded as one of the best saxophone players alive. There will be a $5 cover for this show.

Our special All-Star Week performances conclude on Tuesday July 10th with the Kansas City All-Star Latin Band featuring Pablo Sanhueza for a $5 cover.

The mission of the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City is to celebrate and exhibit the experience of jazz as an original American art form through Performance, Education, Exhibition and Research.
