IN GOOD COMPANY: YOUNG SAXOPHONIST JOINS LABEL THAT LAUNCHED BRAD MEHLDAU, KURT ROSENWINKEL, THE BAD PLUS

Saxophonist/Composer Bob Reynolds Releases His Fresh Sound New Talent Debut, Can't Wait For Perfect, Available May 9th, 2006

“An amazing musician ... some of the freshest, most compelling and most soulful music I have heard recently"--Joshua Redman

“This CD sounds amazing!! Bob is one hell of a saxophonist!"--Michael Brecker

Three-time winner of ASCAP's Young Jazz Composer Award, Bob Reynolds' debut CD on the label that first introduced Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and The Bad Plus features 10 original compositions performed by some of today's finest young jazz musicians and introduces a bold new voice in jazz. His writing seamlessly blends complex ideas with singable melodies and infectious grooves resulting in music that is both intellectually interesting and emotionally satisfying.

The 28-year-old saxophonist, composer, and Berklee College of Music graduate has forged a unique path since arriving in New York five years ago. Though he's performed with jazz luminaries such as Brian Blade and recorded with Tom Harrell, he's also recorded and toured with singer-songwriter Nellie McKay, performed with pop star Jessica Simpson and country legend Willie Nelson, been in a rock band for 6 years and scored a couple of short films. Recently, jazz superstar Joshua Redman began performing one of Reynolds' tunes, Nine Lives, with his Elastic Band.

Musicians on the album are:
Aaron Goldberg - piano/rhodes
Reuben Rogers - bass
Eric Harland - drums
Mike Moreno - guitar
David Soler - pedal steel guitar
