NEW YORK, NY: Brooklyn-based pianist/composer Jesse Fischer and his jazz/funk band Soul Cycle will be hitting the road this June to promote their latest album Homebrew, released independently in Sept 2011. Fischer will be backed by a stellar cast of long-time associates, including Sean Jones alumnus Brian Hogans (alto saxophone), Cleveland native Jerome Jennings (drums), Josh David (bass), Nozomi Yamaguchi (guitar), and Shawn Banks (percussion).

Jesse Fischer & Soul Cycle will be appearing at the following dates and locations: Thu, May 31, 2012 — Nighttown — Cleveland, OH Sat, June 2, 2012 — Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival — Pittsburgh, PA Mon, June 4, 2012 — Chris’ Jazz Café — Philadelphia, PA

Featuring special guests including Gretchen Parlato, Stefon Harris, and Sean Jones, Homebrew draws influence from 70ʼs-era jazz fusion, Memphis soul, singer- songwriter pop, and psychedelic rock. JazzTimes calls it “ambitious” while Creative Loafing Atlanta writes, “rarely does a contemporary jazz album attempt to impress fans of straight-ahead without forsaking its dance-floor groove and old soul references.” Chris Wells of Echoes (U.K.) calls Homebrew “a genuine pleasure — the style is simple, straightforward, and impressively delievered.”
