Whirlwind Recordings Releases Two Albums In May From Euan Burton And George Crowley + New Website!

Whirlwind Recordings Ltd, a musician-owned and operated label established by bassist Michael Janisch in 2010 and already being heralded in the international press as one of the premier creative jazz labels releasing artists from the US, UK and Mainland Europe, is proud to announce the worldwide release of the following two albums in May 2012:

George Crowley's Debut Album Paper Universe Release Date: May 7th 2012:

Featuring London, UK based saxophonist-on-the-rise George Crowley alongside Mercury Award nominated Kit Downes on piano, Calum Gourlay on Bass, and the UK's new first-call drummer James Maddren, 'Paper Universe' has already been called “the kind of debut album that illustrious careers are built" by London Jazz and showcases a true artistic statement of depth by a group of twenty somethings with highly accomplished resumes, who have been developing their musical cohesion and concept since their teenage years. It's simply a rarity anywhere in the world to hear a band this young performing complex yet profound music with such empathy, selflessness, and emotion.

Euan Burton's Occurrences Release date: May 14th 2012:

Featuring Scottish native double bassist, producer and composer Euan Burton alongside Will Vinson on alto saxophone, Mark McKnight guitar, Steve Hamilton Piano and Fender Rhodes, and once again James Maddren holding the fort on drums, this is Burton's debut WWR release, and features a seven part suite of music all penned by the leader himself, and masterfully crafted by all on board. Already being referred to in the press as 'classy' and 'carefully crafted,' Burton has established himself as a bassist/composer worthy of international attention with his latest, highly personal release.
