and John Davis, is Chihiro's 2nd major label U.S. release, following 2011's U.S. debut, Forever Begins, and several acclaimed Universal/Verve releases in Japan.

Reminiscence has already been released in Japan, where it quickly ascended to the #1 spot on the jazz charts and won the Nissan Presents Jazz Japan Award 2011 for Album of the Year. The CD was also released recently in Europe, just ahead of Chihiro's April tour of Italy and France.

The new CD, recorded in New York City with Chihiro producing, presents two versions of her trio: one features the legendary Bernard “Pretty" Purdie on drums with bassist Larry Grenadier, and the other is Chihiro's current performing unit featuring bassist Yoshi Waki and drummer John Davis. Chihiro appears on acoustic piano, Fender Rhodes electric piano and organ.

Reminiscence is a landmark project in Chihiro's recording career, because in addition to her original jazz compositions, it includes Chihiro's unique arrangements of pop/rock classics by Burt Bacharach, Carole King, Sean Ono Lennon and Leon Russell, alongside jazz standards by John Coltrane and Horace Silver.

The U.S. release comes just ahead of the trio's May 10 performance at the Mary Lou Williams Women In Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. The trio will officially celebrate the U.S. release with a July 10 concert at Iridium Jazz Club in New York City.
