(piano/vocals). Having recently graduated from Manhattan School of Music’s revered masters program, the 25 year-old London-born and South African raised vocalist has compiled a collection of songs that are unified by Schrire’s distinct mark as an arranger and interpreter.

“There’s a variety of music from wide-ranging sources and influences,” Schrire stated about ‘Freedom Flight’. “But there’s definitely a common thread - due either to my hand in the interpretations of the songs, or to the presence of the musicians who play such a big role in bringing what I hear to life. Their input has been invaluable. I feel like this album is representative of my generation’s understanding of the jazz genre; the term “jazz” is constantly evolving and growing to incorporate other styles like pop, rock, folk, etc. We’re not “boxed in”. At the end of the day, it’s all music and what is important is that it makes you feel something.” Schrire will be performing a special album release concert / gig on Wednesday, June 6 at Cornelia Street Café in NYC at 8:30pm.
