LOS ANGELES, CA: The music of The Kinks, Dave Brubeck, Aerosmith, Duke Ellington, Neil Young, Dizzy Gillespie and many more is celebrated with hard- swinging, lounged-out reinterpretations in Nutty's new CD, Jetsetter Jazz: The Persuasive Sounds of Nutty, set for release March 28, 2012 at a launch soiree at Skinny's Lounge in the NoHo district of Hollywood, California.
Jetsetter Jazz is Nutty's second CD and presents a menu of twelve new songs that are a suave nod back to a time when the Rat Pack ruled, martinis were a lunch staple and jazz clubs were the place to be.

Led by singer Sonny Moon and bassist Guy Wonder, these 8 talented musicians called Nutty swagger among the pop/rock archives, serving up a potent cocktail mix of crime jazz/spy jazz, straight-ahead jazz, film/T.V. themes, big band swing, atomic lounge, Latin and bop to create the ultimate in spiked rock classics. With an audio/visual vibe straight out of the early 60s, Nutty takes you time-traveling to an offbeat, upbeat retro party scene chock full of clever arrangements, top shelf musicality and irreverent humor.
“You could call it cocktail jazz," says Moon. “Because it sends a vibe synonymous with the cocktail culture and because the music itself is actually a blend of rock, pop and jazz ingredients that make for rich, intricate jazz martinis."
Even the songs have their own Nutty-fied titles to suggest the musical alchemy that goes into them. For example, “Purple Panther" is a psychedelic strut through “Purple Haze" in an inadvertently cosmic collaboration between Hendrix and Mancini. “Living In The Impossible Past" takes Jethro Tull's tune and seamlessly layers it over Lalo Schifrin's “Mission Impossible" theme as though they were one and the same soundtrack, with a surprise 9-bar outburst of Zeppelin's “Four Sticks" following the piano solo. The Latin side of Nutty appears with a two-song medley from the first Van Halen album entitled, “Rumba with the Devil/Jamie's Cha Cha," a catchy dance number with a little rendition of “Sway" to bridge the two rock songs together.
