“Boston Fielder and MuthaWit are Gods in the universe they have created and these songs, which you must hear, are their Adam and Eve, cloned to a fallen and disrupted infinity." —The Wire UK

New York, NY. 2011 was Occupied but 2012 is RAWKified. Multi- national experimentalists, The MuthaWit Orchestra, celebrate the revolutionary legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with their performance of “These Songs of Freedom" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). The January 14th event, produced by URB ALT Media, incorporates dance, theater and video projection artistry in unique renditions of songs by socially conscious artists such as Bob Marley, The Clash, Curtis Mayfield, Joan Baez and The Internationale. The show is free to the public as part of BAM's 26th Annual salute to Dr. King.

“These Songs of Freedom" is a lyric from the Bob Marley classic “Redemption Song," says Boston Fielder, founder of The MuthaWit Orchestra and URB ALT. “Considering the economic, social and political unrest around the globe we want to do our part to present ideas that encourage aggressive but peaceful engagement. I'm humbled to collaborate with BAM in using The MuthaWit Orchestra's distinct musical lens to focus on the timeless philosophies of Dr. King and passionate musical thinkers."

“These Songs of Freedom" is part of a larger theatrical work that The MuthaWit Orchestra is developing for release. The January 14th BAM performance is the first of powerful testimonies that will demonstrate arts capacity to strengthen communities and promote progressive change. The MuthaWit Orchestra is compelled to engage the head of the audience while making sure that their heart and body RAWKS as well.
