Having been utilizing and deepening the concepts of contemporary jazz as well as contemporary classical and south Indian music for some time, Sahin's music nevertheless demands a lot from his band members.

Timucin has just moved to NYC and gave outstanding performances with Greg Osby in the city last week.

He released a trio album entitled Window For My Breath on Kalan Music last December which features Kai Eckhardt on electric bass and Owen Hart Jr on drums.

This Saturday at the World Bar Trump Tower (1st ave-48th str), Sahin's trio will feature Tommy Crane on drums and Christopher Tordini on bass. The show will start at 10.30 pm.

“With a voracious musical appetite that includes African, Indian and more traditional western jazz and contemporary classical music, Sahin has fashioned a sound that is an intriguing blend"--John Kelman, All About Jazz

Timucin Sahin also utilizes live electronics with this setting. Electronics became part of his vision lately and the reviews that he got for his usage of live electronics are always excellent.

“I have found Timucin Sahin to be an exceptionally talented musician with an intriguing approach to composition and improvisation and his usage of electronics is extremely musical"--Joel Chadabe, President, Electronic Music Foundation
