Art Lillard Upcoming Appearances and New Summit CD “Reasons to be Thankful"

The new Heavenly Band recording, “Reasons to be Thankful," is being released on the Summit Record label on February 7, 2006. This CD features all original jazz compositions, both vocal and instrumental, in a variety of swing and Latin feels. All tracks were recorded at Nola, one of New York's top studios. Among the luminaries on this project are pianist Arturo O'Farrill, currently head of Lincoln Center's Latin jazz division; saxophonist Bob Mover, formerly with Charles Mingus and Chet Baker; pianist Mike Longo, formerly with Dizzy Gillespie's band; and the late Mauricio Smith, woodwind master, who played with many jazz and Latin greats.

You can also hear the Heavenly Band live on Sunday, March 19, at St. Peter's Church, in a release event performance from 7:00 till 9:00 PM. Admission is $10. St. Peter's is at 619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street in Manhattan, in the Citicorp Building.
