CHAKA KHAN

10-Time GRAMMY®-winning legend Chaka Khan brings a very Rare and Special Jazz Performance to Weekend of Jazz this November! Khan's versatility and distinctive brand of R&B, gospel, pop, disco, jazz, funk and soul music makes her a favorite among entertainers like Prince, Chick Corea, David Bowie, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Gladys Knight, Joni Mitchell and Ray Charles, who have all collaborated with Chaka on various projects. Khan's impressive vocal range, dominant stage presence and sultry style can only be overshadowed by her heart. She willingly lends her name and talents to worthy causes, and her charity foundation works diligently to help women and children get on the road to a better life.

BRIAN CULBERTSON

R&B/Jazz multi-instrumentalist Brian Culbertson is enjoying the success of his twelfth album, appropriately titled XII, packed with astounding guest performances from the likes of renowned R&B singer Avant, Grammy winner Brian McKnight, Faith Evans, and more. In total, Brian has produced or performed on over 20 No. 1 records, including the No. 1 single 'That's Life' featuring Weekend of Jazz host Earl Klugh and Weekend of Jazz veteran Ray Parker Jr. Culbertson took home six Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards in 2011. With twelve albums and counting, Culbertson always brings his very best—and the very best out of others—in all of his broad-ranging musical endeavors.

MINDI ABAIR

Abair's solo career has produced Ten #1 radio singles. In 2011 alone, Abair was featured on “American Idol," won Best International Instrumentalist at the Wave Awards, and Female Artist of the Year at the Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards. She has hosted her own nationally syndicated radio program “Chill With Mindi Abair" for the past five years.

ERIC DARIUS

Eric Darius unearths his talents as a saxophonist, composer and co-producer on his latest recording, On A Mission, which debuted Top-10 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart in 2010. At just 28 years old, Darius has already shared the stage with artists including Prince, Carlos Santana, George Benson, and Brian McKnight. “Contemporary jazz is the genre that has embraced my music, but I see myself as a musician first," Darius confesses. “I play every style of music from Jazz, R&B, Pop, Reggae, Hip-hop, Rock to Gospel. As I continue to evolve and grow musically, it's the journey to explore new things that keeps me excited and hungry to do what I do."

SPENCER DAY

Breakout Concord Records vocalist, songwriter and pianist Spencer Day has wandered amid the expansive and diverse landscape of American music, developing an artistic sensibility that borrows from numerous sources: jazz, musical theater, cabaret, soul, folk, traditional pop and contemporary pop are just the tip of the iceberg. The Boston Herald calls Day “the real thing" and his hit single “Till You Come to Me" from his Concord Records debut album Vagabond earned the #1 spot on the Smooth AC 2010 year-end radio chart, as well as #2 on the year-end Billboard Jazz Songs chart. He recently recorded with Grammy-winner Michael Buble and jazz singer Erin Boheme.

JOHN MAHAFFEY

PGA Tour Professional and golf commentator John Mahaffey has accumulated 10 PGA Tour victories including a PGA Championship, and numerous others during his illustrious career as a professional golfer. Mahaffey had back-to-back Top 10 finishes in the 1975 and 1976 US Open, a top 10 finish at the 1981 Masters, played on the 1979 US Ryder Cup team and won the 1970 NCAA Men's Championship a year before he turned pro. Mahaffey joined the Senior PGA Tour in 1998 (now known as the Champions Tour) and serves as a commentator for the Golf Channel as well as various venues on the Champions Tour. He looks forward to hosting the Celebrity Golf Outing again at Weekend of Jazz Kiawah Island in 2011.

EARL KLUGH

GRAMMY®-winning guitarist EARL KLUGH's career of more than four decades includes over 200 compositions, more than 30 full-length albums, hosting and producing his own events, work in film and numerous world tours. Klugh's work has earned him 12 career Grammy nominations; the most recent for his critically acclaimed release The Spice of Life. Klugh has been hailed by The New York Times,..."a guitarist with impeccable technique" and is looking forward to his second annual Weekend of Jazz at Kiawah Island. “I am so happy to be back again with a great lineup of artists and friends!," says Klugh. “I hope you will join us in November for a great Weekend of Jazz!"
