Performers will include Terence Blanchard, Jason Lindner, Cyro Baptista, Mark Turner, Jeff Ballard and Larry Grenadier.

Jamie Baum will bring her quintet to Jazzlent, a jazz festival within the larger Festival Lent, an annual event involving a broad range of the performing arts throughout the city of Maribor. The quintet's concert begins at 10:00 PM. Appearing with Jamie Baum will be Russ Johnson (trumpet), John Escreet (piano), Linda Oh (bass) and Jeff Hirshfield (drums.) Admission is via a full festival ticket or a one-day ticket. See www.festival-lent.si for ticket purchase information.

Jazzlent runs from June 24 through July 9 and features Tony Malaby & Nasheet Waits, Trilok Gurtu, Cyro Baptista and a tribute to the late Joe Zawinul featuring his former band, The Syndicate.

The Jamie Baum Septet recently performed at a sold-out concert in the 2011 Mary Lou Williams Women In Jazz Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and earlier this year the group performed at Winter JazzFest in New York City, among many other 2011 concert appearances.

Jamie Baum is widely regarded as one of the finest jazz flutists in the world and a composer of groundbreaking original works. Her recent CD, “Solace" (Sunnyside Records), was listed among the best jazz releases of the year in Downbeat, Jazz Times and the Village Voice. Jamie's brilliance on flute is regularly recognized in awards and polls including the Downbeat Critics' Poll and the Jazz Journalists Association Awards.

Jamie Baum is represented by Scott Foster Management in New York City.
